1. Service and Medical Disclaimer
Allergy Advisor provides tools for creating an Allergy Card, searching food places, saving trusted places, and sharing user-submitted allergy-related reviews of dining venues. The service is intended solely for communication support, personal organisation, and sharing experiences. It does not provide medical, dietary, legal, restaurant, or professional advice of any kind and is not a substitute for professional consultation or care. Allergy Advisor is provided "as is".
2. Eligibility
You must be over 16 years of age to use the service.
3. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate, respectful content; no illegal, defamatory, or harmful material.
- Don’t misuse or attempt to disrupt the service.
- Comply with applicable laws when posting reviews.
- You are solely responsible for managing your own allergies and health risks.
- You must disclose your allergies directly to venues and staff; do not rely solely on reviews or information on this platform.
- Never use Allergy Advisor, an Allergy Card, translations, read-aloud audio, reviews, ratings, or saved places as a replacement for professional medical advice, direct venue checks, or your own judgment regarding allergy safety.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of any allergy information, review, photo, or custom Allergy Card note you submit.
4. User content
You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, display, translate, generate audio from, and distribute your content in connection with providing, improving, and promoting the service. This includes reviews, ratings, comments, photos, Allergy Card information, custom notes, and feedback you submit.
5. Reviews & safety
Restaurant information and reviews may be inaccurate or change. Always confirm allergy safety directly with the venue. Use the service at your own risk.
Allergy Advisor does not verify the accuracy of any user-submitted content. Users must always exercise independent judgment and consult medical professionals when appropriate.
6. Allergy Cards, translations, and read aloud
The Allergy Card is a communication aid only. It is designed to help you explain your allergies more clearly, but it does not guarantee that a venue understands, accepts, or can safely meet your requirements.
Translations and read-aloud audio may be generated automatically and may contain errors, omissions, or wording that does not fully reflect your meaning. Always refer to the English/original card, speak directly with restaurant staff, and ask staff to confirm ingredients and kitchen processes before ordering.
Optional custom notes are written by you. You are responsible for checking that any custom note is accurate, clear, and suitable before showing it to anyone.
7. Safety acknowledgements
The app may ask you to acknowledge a safety disclaimer before use. We may record the acknowledgement timestamp, version, label, text, platform, and source. Your acknowledgement confirms that you understand Allergy Advisor is supportive only and must not be relied on as the sole basis for allergy or food safety decisions.
8. Contact and feedback
If you submit app feedback or contact us through email or WhatsApp, you are responsible for the information you choose to send. We may use feedback to improve the service and respond to you.
9. Third-party services
The service may rely on third-party services for authentication, hosting, mapping, place search, translation, text-to-speech/audio generation, email, analytics, app distribution, and messaging, including Google/Firebase, Google Maps/Places, Google Translate, OpenAI-powered text-to-speech, Apple/Google app services, email providers, and WhatsApp where you choose to contact us that way. Their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy notices.
10. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Allergy Advisor, its founders, affiliates, and partners disclaim all warranties and are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to injury, illness, or death arising from use of the service.
11. Suspension/termination
We may suspend or terminate access for breaches of these Terms or misuse.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use means acceptance of changes.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Allergy Advisor, its affiliates, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
15. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use personal data. Marketing and product emails are optional and are managed through your consent and email preferences. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
