5. Sensitive data
Allergy details, Allergy Card answers, custom notes, and review content may reveal health-related information. We only process this information when you choose to provide it, and only for the purposes stated here. You should avoid adding unnecessary medical details or information about other people.
6. Sharing
We don’t sell your data. We use trusted processors to run the service, including Google Firebase/Firestore/Hosting for hosting, authentication, database, storage, and cloud functions; mapping and place search providers; email delivery and analytics tools; Google Translate for Allergy Card translation; and OpenAI-powered text-to-speech for read-aloud audio. When you use translation or read-aloud features, the relevant Allergy Card text may be sent to the service providers needed to perform that request. If you contact us through WhatsApp or email, those services process the message under their own terms and privacy notices.
We may share aggregated or anonymised insights with research partners, investors, or brands to help improve allergy awareness and related services. We will not share identifiable personal details for those purposes without your explicit consent.
7. Storage & transfers
We use Google Firebase and other service providers. Data may be stored or processed in the UK, EU, US, or other locations where our processors operate, with appropriate safeguards where required. We apply technical and organisational measures to protect it.
8. Retention
We keep account data for as long as you use the service or until you request deletion. Reviews, photos, and trusted places can be removed from your account where the app allows it, although deleted or removed content may remain in backups for a limited period. Safety acknowledgement records may be retained for legal, safety, and audit purposes. Translation and audio outputs may be cached to improve performance and reduce cost.
9. Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability. You can withdraw consent anytime, including by using an email unsubscribe or preferences link. Contact info@allergyadvisor.app.
10. Children
The service is intended for users over 16 years of age.
11. Cookies/analytics
We use essential cookies for core site functionality (e.g., remembering your choices). We may also use optional analytics cookies and app analytics events to understand usage and improve the service. App analytics may include feature events such as Allergy Card creation, review actions, place views, feedback ratings, and safety acknowledgement, but email permission is managed from your marketing preference record. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
12. Changes
We may update this policy; significant changes will be notified in-app or by email.
13. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of the United Kingdom; exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
